Exersketch Episode One

I'm currently working at NoJobo Studios where I spend alot of time doing "random" things. This week, I decided that I needed boot camp to keep my art circulation going. I was looking at alot of architecture references online and I was fascinated by some of the older areas in Hong Kong. I did use references for some of the more complex details. I wanted to savor the drawing aspect and then take it to the painting later on. Here it is so far in progress. The layout took more than a couple of hours. Enjoy! (btw...Nojobo Studios is a joke for No Job:) )

Hi Brian :) Can't wait to see a painted version! It's already got a recognisable sense of architecture with the narrow spaces. Maybe have some clothes hanging out the windows hehe

Congratulations on Nojobo Studios, I really look forward to checking out progress posts!

If you don't mind, what happened with Insomniac?

Thanks guys.

Ben G- I left Insomniac last year to work on a film project called Gatchaman at Imagi Studios. Unexpectedly, funds ran out at Imagi and they laid off about 90% of the US branch off last month. Tough times in this economy.

I'm currently freelancing.

Ack, sorry to hear it. I was applying with Insomniac a little bit ago when they had the Concept Artist opening. In fact, I was hoping to work along side you. Guess I'm glad it didn't work out (Didn't make it past the art test faze).

Fantastic work man.
